on failure
I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to spend a couple of days in Montreal with a very engaged group of startups, at the Montreal Startup Camp on January 20th, 2011. The theme for the Camp was Failure.
Below is the presentation I gave, entitled “My mistakes. Some advice from a well worn path”. It was intended to give a little perspective from a decade of startup experience, and the learning that comes from a pretty broad range of personal and professional challenges along the path!
I’d be remiss not to comment on how impressive the vibe and energy is in the Montreal scene right now. 780 paying attendees for a 6-11pm evening of discussions and pitches, keynotes and networking. It’s a level of engagement I’ve never seen in the homeland before! Montreal is definitely a hub with real momentum.

Perry – Thanks for being at SCMTL and for your presentation. I especially liked the part about testing the assumptions (reminded me “don’t make an ass of u or me”)
